Kangstem Biotech will present the Phase 1 clinical trial data of its fundamental osteoarthritis treatment, OSCA, at the 2025 Osteoarthritis Research Society International(OARSI), which will be held from April 24 to 27 at Songdo Convensia in Incheon, South Korea.

The OARSI is the most prestigious international conference in the field of osteoarthritis, bringing together over 1,000 experts from academia and industry across more than 50 countries. The clinical results will be presented by Professor Dae-Geun Seo from the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Kyung Hee University Hospital, who participated the Phase 1 trial of OSCA.

Notably, the data to be unveiled at the congress will include radiological assessments at six months post-administration, with MRI images being publicly disclosed for the first time. The presentation will also cover evaluations of pain indices at each visit, knee function and mobility, pain management and joint functionality, overall improvement of osteoarthritis symptoms, and localized cartilage changes.

OSCA is an advanced bio-convergent therapy combining umbilical cord blood-derived mesenchymal stem cells and acellular cartilage matrix. It aims to offer a fundamental treatment for knee osteoarthritis. In preclinical studies on goats, a single intra-articular injection without surgery demonstrated structural improvements, including regeneration of cartilage and subchondral bone. The Phase 1 trial also showed positive outcomes in pain relief, functional improvement, and cartilage regeneration.

Kangstem Biotech is currently conducting a Phase 2a clinical trial across seven institutions in Korea to further validate OSCA's efficacy as a fundamental treatment, based on the promising results seen in preclinical and Phase 1 studies.

In addition, the company will hold a public investor relations(IR) session on April

30 at 10:00 AM in the Ruby Hall, 2nd floor of the FKI Tower Conference Center, to share a detailed analysis of the Phase 1 results for OSCA, highlights from the OARSI presentation, and updates on the company’s business progress.
